On November 5, 2024, the Russian House in Dhaka in cooperation with the RT
Documentary TV channel, opened the RT. Doc: The Time of Our Heroes.
Director of the Russian House in Dhaka P. Dvoychenkov emphasized the
importance of holding such events, noting that they allow people abroad, even in
the face of Western propaganda, to learn the truth about the war, which has long
been a conflict between Russia and the collective West, and not with Ukraine.
Thanks to documentaries, foreigners can learn how people live in Crimea and new
regions of Russia, hear their words and understand their point of view. In this
regard, the Russian television channel RT can be considered the most important
source.
The RT. Doc: Time of Heroes" has already covered 16 countries, and now the
people of Bangladesh have the opportunity to take part in it. The festival program
opened with the documentary "Donbass: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow", directed by
Tatyana Borshch, "Young Guard 2.0" and "St. Basil's Cathedral", directed by
Ekaterina Kitaytseva and Dmitry Khrustalyov. After the screening, viewers asked
questions to the RT editor. Doc to Ekaterina Shubnaya, which was part of an
extensive discussion.
The event provided a unique opportunity for journalists, documentary filmmakers,
filmmakers, representatives of social movements and other interested persons from
among students and graduates of universities to get acquainted with current
documentary works. This contributes to a deeper understanding of current events
and provides an alternative perspective on the conflict.
The RT. Doc: “Time of Heroes" is a significant event not only for Bangladesh, but
also for the international community, which seeks objective coverage of events and
increased cultural exchange.
