The Russian House in Dhaka organized some memorial programs to mark the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
Jointly with the Association «Rodina» (Homeland) was held the «Memory Watch». Several paper boats with lit candles were launched into the water in honor of the 27 million victims, and their memory was honored with a minute of silence. During the evening of memories, compatriots told about their relatives who participated in the war.
Also, a seminar «We Remember» was held. Different speakers from Bangladesh- Russia Friendship Society, Liberation War Affairs Academy Trust, Soviet Alumni Association, Bangladesh (SAAB) as well as from other institutions noted the decisive role of the Soviet people in the victory over fascism. They evocated huge human losses of Soviet Union which defended the right to a future peaceful life for all people on earth.
